What Is a Legal Process in Gender Change?

HOW DOES GENDER CHANGE BE HELD?
The way to follow a person who wants to change his / her gender is found in Article 40 of Law No. 4721. As explained in the aforementioned article, a person wishing to change his or her gender may, by means of an individual or a lawyer, request the court to allow for gender reassignment. However, in order for permission to be granted, the owner of the request must have reached the age of eighteen and is not married; In addition, it is essential that the gender change is inevitable in terms of mental health and that it is permanently deprived of its ability to reproduce.
In the event that a gender reassignment surgery in accordance with the purpose and medical methods to be obtained is confirmed by the official medical board report, the court decides to make the necessary correction in the population registration.
It is obvious that following these cases, it will be important for the citizens to follow up the cases in order to finalize the second case which should be opened in order to change the population registration after the follow-up of the case and the gender change operation.
