Student Residence Permit In Turkey

Student residence permits are issued under Articles 38 to 41 of the foreigners and International Protection Law No. 6458. In addition, student residence permits are issued in Articles 35 to 39 of the regulation on the application of the law on foreigners and international protection.
Who Are The Foreigners Who Can Be Issued Student Residence Permits?

– Foreigners who do not have a family residence permit can continue their education without having to obtain a residence permit until the age of 18. However, students who reach the age of 18 and still continue their education at the secondary level are required to obtain a residence permit.),

– Foreigners who will be educated at Associate Degree, Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctorate degree, specialization education in medicine (TUS), specialization education in dentistry (DUS) levels in a higher education institution in our country,

The student residence permit allows only the spouse and children of the student to be supportive of their family residence permit applications. It provides other relatives with no right to obtain a residence permit.
How Many Years Can Student Residence Permit Be Arranged?
If the period of study of the foreign student is less than one year, the period of residence permit cannot exceed the period of study.

Foreigners who come through public institutions and institutions to study in Turkey can be granted residence permits for the duration of their studies.

Foreigners who will receive primary and Secondary Education, whose care and expenses are undertaken by a natural or legal person, may be granted and extended student residence permit for one year period during their education with the consent of their parents or legal representatives.
What Are The Requirements For Student Residence Permit?
Foreigners must meet the requirements of Article 39 of the law in order to obtain the student residence permit.

– To present supporting information and documents for the purpose of staying in Turkey (article 38 of the law)),

– Not to fall within the scope of Article 7 of the mentioned law,
– To give the address information to stay in Turkey,
What are the reasons why Student Residence Permit is not refused, cancelled or extended?

– Failure to meet or eliminate the requirements for student residence permit arrangement,
– The discovery of evidence that he could not continue his education,

– Determination that the student residence permit is used outside the purpose of granting,
– A valid deportation order or a ban on entry to Turkey,
in case of short-term residence permit is not granted, if granted, it is cancelled, the expired ones are not extended.
