Rules about those involved in traffic accidents

Article 81-those involved in traffic accidents;

a) if they are on the move, stop immediately so that they do not pose an additional danger to traffic, take the necessary measures for Traffic Safety at the scene of an accident,

b) if there are deaths, injuries or property damage in the accident, if this accident does not affect the safety of traffic, life and property, including evidence and traces that will be useful in determining liability, do not change the situation at the scene of the accident,

c) inform and show your identity, address, driver’s and traffic certificate, as well as the date and number of the insurance policy, if requested by people involved in the accident,

d) inform the authorized and duty officers of the accident, do not leave the scene of the accident until they arrive or without their permission,

e) drivers who damage vehicles, goods or loads when the driver, owner or persons concerned are not present, find the owner or persons concerned with the vehicle, goods or property they damage, determine the situation if they cannot find the persons concerned and leave written information on what has been damaged, provide information to the relevant police as soon as possible,

Only in accidents involving property damage, all persons involved in the accident may leave the accident site by determining this in writing between them if they do not need the competent and duty person to come.

Drivers who leave the scene without the permission of the police or who do not comply with the provisions of Paragraph (b) of the first paragraph shall be punished with a fine of 7 200 000 lira in case of road accidents with material damage, death or injury other than the agreement.

Those who do not comply with the other provisions of this article shall be punished with a fine of 3 600 000 TL.
