Effective remorse is an institution applied if the accused/suspect regrets the crime committed on him completely of his own free will afterwards, fixes the damages caused by the crime he has committed, and contributes to criminal justice with his positive behavior. If the defendant takes advantage of this institution, the penalty reduction is made by the judge according to the nature of the crime.
