WHAT IS CHILD SUPPORT?
Child support is the alimony that children have. It refers to the monetary contribution that the spouse, to whom custody has not been granted as a result of the divorce, has given to his child at the rate of his own power for the maintenance and educational expenses of his child. In this alimony, the defect rates of the spouses in the divorce are not taken into account. Alimony for participation ends when the child reaches the age of 18, marries and becomes an adult by a court decision. But if the child’s education is continuing and other conditions have been established, alimony for assistance may be requested, which we will examine below. Alimony for participation can be requested in divorce and separation cases, as well as in a separate case after the decision to divorce and separation has been made.
