First, marriage to a Turkish citizen does not give foreigners the right to become a Turkish citizen by themselves. Conditions of being a Turkish citizen by marriage 16 of the Citizenship Law No. 5901.in the article are arranged. According to the text of the relevant law, in order for a foreign national to become a citizen through a spouse, he must have the following conditions:

A foreigner who will apply for citizenship has been married to a Turkish citizen for at least 3 years and the marriage continues;
Participation of spouses in the family union;
A foreigner does not engage in activities contrary to the Union of marriage;
The Foreigner is not in a position to threaten public safety.
Foreigners can apply for citizenship in the governorates where the settlements are located if they carry the above conditions. But if the spouse of a Turkish citizen dies after the date of application, the requirement that the spouses live in the family union is not required.

The last paragraph of the text of the law concerns the situation of a foreigner who has acquired Turkish citizenship as a result of marriage. If a foreigner is good at marriage, his citizenship is not revoked.
